EDTA tetrasodium is also known as EDTA tetrasodium salt. White powder. The pH value of 1% aqueous solution is about 11.8, and it is insoluble in alcohol, benzene and chloroform.
It can be used as hard water softener, multivalent chelating agent, fixing solution for washing and bleaching in color sensitive materials, and activator of SBR.
EDTA tetrasodium has the ability of complexation to calcium bearing hard water in various pH ranges and concentrations, but the efficiency is higher when pH ≥ 8.
